Overview

This tour will lead you through the historical Jewish Ghetto and its important story and traditions, exploring the little narrow streets, still full of archaeological ruins from the ancient Roman Empire, such as the Porticus of Ottavia, the ancient fish market, and the Theatre of Marcello, better known as the "Small Colosseum." After the visit of the neighborhood and all the typical restaurants of the area, you will be guided to Tiberina Island, the smallest island in the world that rises in the middle of the Tiber River, where you will also walk on the oldest bridge ever built by the Romans more than 2000 years ago. After that, you will go to Trastevere, the bohemian and artistic neighborhood of Rome, and you will visit the Basilica of Santa Cecilia, its spectacular cloister, and its underground, among the most evocative and important preservation in the city center.

Isola Tiberina

This is the smallest Island in the world in the middle of the Tiber River.

The Old Jewish Quarter

This is the second-oldest Jewish ghetto in the world, after the one in Venezia. Today is the heart of Roman traditional food, with historical restaurants along the main street. There is a famous "Forno," which is considered the best in the city for the cake with ricotta and visciole, and the Modern Temple, which is the Jewish Synagogue.

Trastevere

The bohemian neighborhood of Rome, center of food and ancient traditions, local shops, restaurants, and small activities, with its narrow alleys, balconies, and low buildings covered in Ivy, is a literal jump in the past.

Santa Cecilia in Trastevere

A medieval basilica with underground ruins dating back to the ancient Roman Empire and a suggestive cloister under the ground floor.
